2 NEW TAPES

ZACK KOUNS "he must've contemplated his death during those long drives on the bypass at night" C40

This guy is the best. I couldn't be more pleased to put this tape out. Sparse, electronic music from this world-traveler. Heavy loner jams mixed with detective noir music. Check out the samples http://soundcloud.com/rtchamps/

CUBICLE "age sex location" C32

Slimy tape loops. Grimy rhythms. Feel around in the dark until you get the idea.. A real solid release from Adam Keith. Audio samples forthcoming...

MARK LORD, TSARLAG, and TWO YEARS ON WELFARE is OUT OF PRINT.

UP NEXT...

New Tapes

RUSSIAN TSARLAG - "Eternal Flame" C45

'Russia' returns with "Eternal Flame", a 45 minute journey that picks up where last years excellent "There's a Snake in my Cash Register" left off. It takes me back to that time I started sleepwalking in Columbus,OH. I was disoriented, cold, and quite confused. These songs evoke a similar feeling. Also, includes a stark rendition of "Bye Bye Love" for the lonely hearted. Press the button...

HNY "How I Learned to Live" C22

Heather Nicole Young, or HNY, is back with her first tape in over a year. Less is more they say. Some moments on here remind me of textures from "Soundtracks from the Blind" by the Swans. I know Heather pretty well, she positively shreds on the guitar, when she feels like it. Theres a little taste of that here along with some 3am basement clatter, dying cassette vocal harmonies, and more high quality stuff you would expect from her.Another winner in a nearly flawless discography.

DICK NEFF "Goofy Gore" C22

This dude has been at it for like 3 years and somehow never found the time to throw a boombox in the room and hit the record button? Well,I dont get it, but apparently this is the debut release by Dick Neff. Simply put, Lance 'delivers the goods' when you see him get down. A mess of frantic, speed freak drumming wired up to electronics that spit out shrieking hi tones and ground shaking bass waves. Here on "Goofy Gore", he lays waste to your hi-fi with a non-stop bombardment of drums and bass tones. The ol' "Kensington Cowboy" goes for it, and rides high into the sunset. A mandatory cranker. Elaborate/frustrating pullout screened artwork.

Happy New Year Feb 20111 Batch

Mark Lord "Straight From the Hand" CS

No introduction needed for this guy...Hardly any of the typical synth to be found here. Instead, two 10 minute sides of drum machine slam, with the occasional synth blipping in and out of the mix along with some sweet cowbell riffage. Party in the Wasteland.

Two Years on Welfare "Receiver" CS

We're cruising through North Philly on another night ride.No stars out there and certainly none on the street. Just headlights to blind you and mutant kids to grind you. This is dark music for those hot summer nights. Glenn lays down some cuts reminiscent of classic Rahdunes and early Robedoor.40 minutes. Lay down in the black sewer and give up for awhile.

NEW TAPES 02.17.10

NEW TAPES OUT. SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED, ESPECIALLY FORM A LOG CS. ACT NOW.

FORM A LOG "CLOCKBRAIN" C30

FORM A LOG "CLOCKBRAIN" C30

a brief snapshot of a chapter in the log culture story thus far. hear the boys step away from their four tracks and pick up guitars and drums and really "tighten it up". with their raw live sound captured here for the first time (and if you've been lucky enough to witness it then you'll really enjoy this one) the log digs deep on cuts such as "nightbat" and "double a", an explosive number they banged out nearly every night on their first tour. insert by alex hampshire. "the drapes are on us" 50 copies.

SOLD OUT

CHEGVARA ISCAND "CHEGVARA ISCAND" C30

CHEGVARA ISCAND C30

debut release from jon rickman (ex-social junk). dead drunk and face down in a field at night with distant drums echoing through the hills and valleys. rattling field recordings taken from rural west virginia mixed with acoustic experiments at home in kentucky. static transmissions and creeped out female vocals fade in and out of the mix. really excited about this tape and can't wait to hear what he comes up with next. 50 copies.

SOLD OUT

DOGBOX C20

DOGBOX C20

new release from this highly bizarre philly band. absolutely no clue as to what's going on here. disgusting sludge mixed with awkward breaks of silence and unsettling animal(?) sounds. definitely for creeps. 20 copies.
